Eucalyptus Radiata Steam for Cold & Cough

This classic steam delivers potent, direct relief for congestion and mucus. The aroma is fresh, cool, and clearing.

Ingredients:

  • 1 - 2 drops Eucalyptus radiata Essential Oil (Eucalyptus radiata)

  • 1 cup hot, steamy water

Directions:

  • 1. Heat water until steamy (not boiling) and pour into a heat-safe bowl.

  • 2. Add just 1 - 2 drops of Eucalyptus radiata to the bowl.

  • 3. Close your eyes, lean over the bowl, and drape a towel over your head to create a tent.

  • 4. Inhale the steam for 5–10 minutes, taking breaks as needed. Keep your eyes closed to avoid irritation.

  • 5. Have tissues handy—this can loosen mucus and clear your sinuses quickly!

Safety Note:
Steaming is best reserved for adults. Never use more than 2 drops per steam session—more is not better and can cause irritation. If you have asthma, test by gently smelling the cap of your oil before using. Discontinue if you feel any irritation or dizziness.

Customisations with Your Oils

You can substitute or rotate in any of the following for a slightly different therapeutic effect:

  • Tea Tree for extra antimicrobial support (1 - 2 drops per steam).

  • Black Spruce or Siberian Fir for a coniferous, decongestant effect (1 - 2 drops per steam).

  • Sweet Marjoram for a gentle, cough-calming effect (1 - 2 drops per steam).

Note: Never use more than 2 drops of essential oil per bowl of steam water. If you want to try a blend, mix 1 drop each of two oils in a bowl—but only if you tolerate the individual oils well.
